We really value your prayers and support. Kevin left Paarl 3 April via Gauteng to visit his parents. He arrived in Mongu at the Mutoya base with no problems, although seeing many accidents and breakdowns along the way; as well as driving through heavy rain and on some bad pieces of road.
The rainy season was slowing down here but the water level on the plains was rising. His first morning in Zambia he had to winch Dutch tourists out of the mud. The following week many places along the Zambezi became inaccessible. He was really thankful for journey mercies.
The spare vehicle parts and other donations of school clothing and ministry material that he offloaded were welcomed.
Kevin spent the first ten days doing repairs on four vehicles that were standing. He works with a very willing assistant called Wam. He is the driver for the project,. Wam is trying to teach Kevin to speak Silozi whilst Kevin is teaching him petrol and diesel vehicle maintenance and repair.

The old Shoprite building in Mongu has been bought. It is in the process of being renovated to use as a Hope church hall, a Children’s church facility, a Ministry training centre and the Hope Art project will operate here too. Materials and labour are all volunteered so it’s a long process. Kevin spent a Saturday clearing rubble and weeding the plot with other missionaries and Zambian congregants.
The therapy unit at the Save a Life Centre saw a child who uses a plastic motorbike as a type of wheelchair to assist with mobility. So as the motorbike was broken, Kevin was called in to repair it.
An evangelistic team from Lusaka passed through showing The Jesus film in various communities. Their one Land-Rover had a broken clutch pipe so Kevin had to make a plan to have it remade.
